Timothy “Tim” Long

December 8, 1959 – May 22, 2021

Tim Long, age 61, of Murrieta California passed peacefully at Utah Valley Hospital on May 22, 2021. Tim had contracted Covid-19 and later died from a massive stroke. He fought hard and before passing was able to receive and communicate love and thankfulness to his wife and family.

Tim was ambitious, creative and accomplished. He worked many years for Vons Grocery Company beginning at the age of sixteen and quickly became the youngest store manager. He built at least ten custom homes many in which his family lived and entertained extended family and friends. Tim was always on the move whether that was flying, driving something big, or boating on a lake. His ashes will be spread at his favorite spot on Lake Tahoe where he generously included loved ones on many vacations throughout his life.

Tim was a tall, strong athlete who enjoyed playing tennis for hours with his two older brothers until their bodies hurt reminding them that they were no longer teenagers. Afterwards, he would stuff himself with his mother’s spaghetti, fried chicken, roast, or his favorite meatloaf. The outing would end with playful teasing and relentless banter.

He had plans to retire from trucking and enjoy growing old with his wife in a beautiful home with a view of Temecula Valley. He was a loving father to three grown children and his three grandchildren were the joy of his life.

We will miss Tim’s forgiving heart, clever sense of humor, big laugh, enormous presence and loving arms. But, we find peace in the assurance of the promises of God that we will spend eternity rejoicing together without suffering, cleansed of our shortcomings and Jesus will wipe away all of our tears.

Tim is survived by: his devoted wife of thirty years, Patricia Marie Murphy Long; children, Cailey Marie Long, Timothy Kevin Long and Sarah Nicole Long Muilenberg, (husband) Andrew Muilenberg; grandchildren, Bella Long Brousseau, Maverick and Wyatt Muilenberg; mother, Judy Turner; siblings, Wayne, Randy, Candy, Kevin, Tolly and Gene; nephews and nieces, Justin, Andrew, Kelsey, Sidney and Makayla.
